​​​​​​Autumn Term

Our writing in Year 2 in the Autumn term will be based around 'The Disgusting Sandwich' and writing instructions on 'How to make a disgusting sandwich', Then, after our trip we will be  recounting our trip to Dudley Canal and Caverns. 

Spring Term

Non-chronological reports about Minibeasts

We have done some exciting writing over the spring term this year. We had some exciting visitors that visited Year 2. We had grasshoppers and crickets in our classrooms and we wrote some non-chronological reports for the customers of Pets at Home. This is so they learn more about grasshoppers and crickets. 

Jim and the Beanstalk 

We read Jim and the Beanstalk this term. We then wrote a character description about the Giant. We then wrote our own narrative based on Jim and the Beanstalk. We changed some parts of the narrative and chose the things that the Giant needed. For example, scarf, football, boots and jumper. 

Summer Term

This term, we are looking at the Great Fire of London. We are going to be writing a setting description describing the horrid fire that teared through London. We are then going to be writing a narrative based on the book Vlad and the Great Fire of London. Finally, we are going to be writing a diary entry, where we are going to imagine we are in London during the fire and we are going to be describing how we escaped London.
