Year 4 Carding Mill Valley
Please ensure children bring a water bottle to school each day. Can you also apply suncream on the children and provide a hat .
Diary Dates Tuesday 23rd June . Reception Meeting for new parents. Year 6 residential meeting 3.30pm Wednesday 24th June . Year 1 to Warwick Castle. Year 6 Road Safety Training 1st and 2nd July Year 6 transition days , different for each school. Thursday 2nd July - Children will meet their new teachers and spend the day with them. Additional dates are available on our School web site.
School trips. Thankyou to staff who continue to support our children with the organisation and taking part in school trips. Year 4 had a wonderful time at Carding Mill Valley. Reception went to Twycross Zoo. Year 3 had an early start and headed into London. Year 1 are looking forward to their trip on Wednesday 24th June to Warwick Castle.
Year 6 residential. Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th September 2026. Our new year 6 pupils will have the opportunity to go on a residential visit to Frank Chapman Outdoor Education Centre, from Wednesday 2nd September till Friday 4th September. There will be a meeting for parents after school on Tuesday 23rd June at 3.30pm, where we will be able to answer any questions and share details of the activities.
World Cup Football Tournament Congratulations to the children from year 3 and year 4 who represented St Matthew's at the WBA World Cup Football Tournament. The team was:Jemiah, Micah, Temidire, Pape, Junior, Adam, Chioma, Aliza, Daryn, and Ekow. We didnt make the final, but the team played brilliantly. Thankyou to Mr Noble for accompanying the children and to Mr Tolley for driving the minibus .
New Beginnings. Congratulations to Miss Bowker who will be leaving at the end of the summer term to take up the role of Assistant Head at another Sandwell school. We wish her every success and thank her for everything she has done whilst she has been at St Matthew's. Congratulations to Mrs Green who has secured a teaching post closer to home . After teaching at St Matthews for the last 12 years she wants to be able to take her children to school and so is moving closer to home. Thankyou Mrs Green
Miss Davies. Miss Davies who teaches year 5, won't be in school towards the end of the coming week as she is getting married. When she returns to school she be known as Mrs Thomas . We wish her every happiness as she begins this new chapter of her life .
