Writing

Fine Motor Skills

Before we start writing, we use lots of fun activities to help strengthen the muscles in our hand. This helps us to hold our pencil and use it with control. Lots of activities that help us to do this are: using tweezers, threading beads, using hammers and play dough!

Writing

In Nursery, we are encouraged to write and paint anything we want to. We use different things to write such as: crayons, pencils, paint, and even carrots in paint! We have lots of fun when we are learning to write. Miss Partridge and Mrs Akhtar then sit with us to help us learn how to write our own name when we are ready.

Teacher's Comment

It is important to make writing as fun as possible to develop a love of writing in our children. You can use anything at home to write or draw pictures of anything you want to. Then, you may want to start practising writing your name if you can! Remember to bring your drawings to show us, we love seeing what they can do at home.
