Spellings

  • Spelling Shed From year 2-6, we use the spelling shed to learn spellings for our year groups. Each child has a log in to practise their spellings, play games and win rewards in this online game. Follow the link to play the game!
Each year group will be given a set of spellings to learn each week, which link to the spelling patterns for their year group. They will be tested the following week. Your child will have the opportunity to practise their spellings during school time but will also need to practise these as part of their home learning. 

The following shows the spelling patterns taught in each year group:

The challenge words refer to statutory spellings for each year group, from the national curriculum. Children will need to learn these, including the spelling patterns involved with these. A copy of these for each year group can be found below:
