Sensational Safari!

During our Sensational Safari topic we looked at Kenya. We looked at the human and geographical features of Kenya, For example, we compared the climate in Kenya and England, we also compared the schools and houses in Kenya and England as well.

We looked at the Maasai tribe in Kenya. We found it very interesting how the Maasai tribe was so different to how people live in England.

When looking at the Maasai tribe we looked at:

  • The houses people in the Maasai tribe lived in
  • Maasai women and children
  • The Jumping Dance
  • Food

We also watched a video about a Kenyan child's life in Kenya and how different it was to our day.

We were also very lucky to write letters to children in Kenya at Makaalu Primary School!

They sent us a letter and presentation introducing themselves and asked us if we would be interested in writing a letter to children at their school. This was such an amazing opportunity for us!

A presentation that Makaalu Primary School sent to us:

It's a Pirates Life For Us!

Our topic in Spring 2 is all about naming and locating the continents and oceans of the world.

We also looked at a compass and we followed simple directions using a compass.
