In Nursery, we focus mainly on understanding the sounds around us. This could be the noises we hear outside, the sounds animals make, the sounds we can make with our bodies and voices. 

As we develop our understanding of environmental sounds, our phonics sessions start to follow our phonics scheme, Read, Write, Inc. We will learn how to Fred Talk words, which is blending sounds together to form words.
