At St Matthew's, a Reading Hero is someone who works hard to improve their reading skills. They practice reading at home, read different types of books and encourage others to read.

A Reading Hero is also someone who tries to read all the books which we recommend for their age group. We encourage children in Year 2 to become Reading Heros and anyone can take part, they just need to see Mrs Deakin.
