At St Matthew's, pupils use sketchbooks throughout Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to record, explore and develop artistic ideas. Sketchbooks provide a personal space for children to experiment with techniques, reflect on their progress and respond to feedback. They encourage creativity, independence and critical thinking, while allowing teachers to see each pupil's artistic journey and progression over time.
