A solid understanding of number bonds enables children to quickly recognise number patterns, spot relationships between numbers, and apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations, improving their confidence and success in maths.
Children in Year 1 are able to earn their Number Bond badges if they know their number bonds first to 10 and then to 20. The best way to learn them is by practising and there are rhymes to help such as the one below:
